I wouldn't count myself among Dennis Hopper's fans, I could take him or leave him.
That said, he was in Hoosiers (playing Shooter Flatch), the greatest sports movie ever made. (Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, and Slapshot are about individuals who play sports, not their respective sports).
In a perfect world, Gene Hackman would follow me everywhere and bark "fundamentals!!" in my face every time I got out of line.

How is that Joe Montana, a guy who is generally ranked among the greatest quarterbacks of all time, if not the greatest, is relegated to Sketchers Shape-Ups ads?
Is he a complete asshole? Retarded? Is his agent both of those things?
In 1994 I would have wagered Joe would ascend to the Jordan stratosphere (with the added advantages of being white and not a chronic gambler).
And yet he has not, meanwhile ringless Dan Marino yucks it up on CBS NFL Sunday and shills man-diets with Mike Golic.
